Yesterday, our 8th-grade students traveled to Springfield, our state capital, to learn about our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. The students visited the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum as well as Lincoln's Tomb for an immersive history lesson. It was a fantastic day of hands-on history! 🎩

Mr. Rollins' classes have been cooking up success in the kitchen! His Foods 1 students recently wrapped up an important unit on kitchen safety and sanitation, then put their new skills to the test by preparing delicious tacos. The real challenge? Preventing cross-contamination between ready-to-eat ingredients and raw hamburger — and they nailed it!
Meanwhile, his Culinary class is on a mission to earn their ServSafe Manager's certification by the end of the semester. They've been diligently working through the required modules, and today's kitchen session featured mouthwatering cranberry jam pork chops. The dedication and skill these students are showing is truly impressive. Keep up the amazing work, everyone!

Ms. Spillman's 8th hour World Religions class spent two separate days on scavenger hunts around the school to find Egyptian and then Greek gods. This was in the middle of them learning about Ancient World Religions and Mythology. They had a blast following riddles that led them to a part of the school that Ms. Spillman connected to the god that was stationed there.

Effective immediately, students will no longer be permitted to bring fidgets or squishies from home to school. While these items can sometimes help students focus, we have observed that they are causing disruptions to the learning environment. Additionally, there have been instances of squishies bursting and students becoming upset over losing their belongings, which further impacts the classroom experience. To ensure a positive and productive learning environment, we will provide appropriate fidgets in the classroom when needed. This approach will help us better manage classroom dynamics and minimize distractions. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to create the best possible learning environment for all students.
