Chrisman Nite Unit HCE (due May 7, 2018)

Chrisman Nite Unit HCE will award two $350 scholarships to candidates attending a 2 year or 4 year college, trade school, or any institution of higher education. Applicants must have been a 4-H member for at least one year. Applications may be found in the scholarship file.


Chrisman Sons of the American Legion (due 9, 2018)

This scholarship is eligible to any Chrisman Graduating Senior. Three will be awarded. Applications may be found in the scholarship file.


Paris Young Farmers Scholarship (due May 1, 2018)

The Paris Young Farmers award multiple $500 scholarships. Applications may be found in the scholarship file.


The Single Parent Scholarship (due May 31, 2018)

The Colwell Law Group understands the difficulty of obtaining a college degree as a single parent or a child of a single parent and we want to help fund that persons education. The applicant must be a single parent or the child of a single parent with a 3.0 GPA. Anthem Essay Contest (due May 1, 2018)

Thomas L. Dickson Scholarship (due May 15, 2018)

Applicant must be under the age of 25 and enrolled in an accredited college in the United States or planning to matriculate in the fall of this year. Video essay on the following question is required: There is a bit of discretion involved when a judge is deciding spousal support/maintenance awards in a divorce or legal separation. Do you believe that the current factors which determine these decisions are sufficient? Do you think that spousal support/maintenance is still needed in today’s day/age? The 2018 WyzAnt Scholarship Contest (due May 31, 2018)

Scholarship is open to current legal US residents who are at least 16 years old and are enrolled in or expect to attend within the next two years, a two-year or four-year college or university, or adult online educational program through accredited educational institution within the United States during the Promotion Period. Scholarships Added 4/5/2018

Altrusa International of Paris, Illinois Scholarship (due April 25, 2018)

The purpose of this scholarship is to award one graduating senior or an adult resident seeking higher education in their second semester or higher, taking 6 hours or more, who resides in Edgar County, $400 toward furthering their education. The student must be accepted to a recognized institution of higher learning to further their education in a chosen field. The student receiving the scholarship must use the money to help defray expenses for tuition, books, supplies, or school fees. Applications may be found in the scholarship file.


Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship (due May 1, 2018)

Sigma Phi Epsilon is America’s largest college fraternity and is committed to its mission of Building Balanced Leaders for America’s Communities. In an effort to recognize the outstanding achievements of the incoming class at the University of Illinois and to help offset the high price of a college education, Sigma Phi Epsilon Illinois Alpha is offering three Balanced Man Scholarship totaling $1,750. These scholarships are being offered to incoming male students who have excelled in the areas of scholarship, leadership, athletics, and community service during their high school careers. Edgar County Democrat Boosters’ Scholarship (due by 5:00 pm May 1, 2018)

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program (app opens March 15, due June 15, 2018)

The Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, commitment to pursue career or technical certification/degree, and a desire to contribute to society. E-Waste Scholarship (due April 30, 2018)

Applicants must be a high school, college, graduate or home schooled students. There is no age limit. Students must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. A 140-character message about e-waste is required to apply. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists; finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about e-waste. Only online applications are accepted. The MoolahSPOT Scholarship (due April 30, 2018)

RentHop Apartment Scholarship (due April 30, 2018)

Applicant must be an undergraduate student in the United States who is able to demonstrate diligence, leadership, and an entrepreneurial spirit that is central to the sponsor's culture. An essay equivalent to or under 500 words is required. Application may be found at http://www.renthop.com.


All About Education Scholarship (due April 30, 2018)

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is a student 13 years of age or older, and is currently enrolled (or planning to enroll) at an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Online short written response to what you think about the following statement, "How will a $3,000 scholarship for education make a difference in your life" is required. Tip Top Tux Scholarship (due May 1, 2018)

National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship Program (due May 10, 2018)

The NHSC Scholarship Program awards funds to health profession students pursuing careers as primary care providers in exchange for their commitment to serve in high-need, underserved communities. Scholarship support includes tax-free payment of tuition, required fees, other reasonable educational costs, and a taxable monthly living stipend. Notes for the Future Scholarship Program (due April 27, 2018)

Established by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS) in 2017, the Notes for the Future Scholarship Program aims to support student musicians through scholarship funding to recipients as well as a free opportunity – for all applicants – to have their audition reviewed by departments of music from colleges and universities nationwide. The program awards scholarships of up to $1,000 to promising young musicians in the United States. Applicants must be a high school sophomore, junior, or senior who plans to study music in college. Applicant must be a United States resident who will be enrolling in post-secondary education in their next semester. Applicant must create a short video, under three minutes long, on one of the following topics: What it means to live in America; My first memory of a Mustang; How the auto industry changed America; What a Mustang teaches me about life; How a Mustang relates to your field of study. College JumpStart Scholarship (due April 15, 2018)

Applicants must be 10th, 11th or 12th grade high school, college or adult students. Applicants may study any major and attend any college in the U.S. Applicants must be legal residents of the U.S. and complete the online application form including the required personal statement. The award may be used for tuition, room and board, books or any related educational expense. Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (due March 23, 2018)

The Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Scholarship is a scholarship open to graduating high school seniors who are deaf or hard of hearing in the state of Illinois.  The Dean Ritter Trust Scholarship is intended to cover tuition or related costs for the selected recipients to an accredited technical school or university. OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center Scholarship (due April 13, 2018)

OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center would like to provide a $500 scholarship to support an individual interested in a career in health care. How to win: Basically, you just need to explain—in 10 words or less—why you should get this scholarship. They even let you post it as a comment on their Facebook page, for cryin’ out loud. AFSA (American Fire Sprinkler Association) Scholarship

Amount: $2,000

How to win: To win this scholarship, you need to read about automatic fire sprinkler systems and take a 10-question quiz about the material. Pretty easy, right? This award is only open to high school seniors on their way to an accredited two- or four-year school in the fall. Ten scholarships are available each year—which means you have 10 chances to win! Americanism Essay Contest

Amount: Up to $5,000

How to win: Every year the Fleet Reserve Association awards a scholarship based on a single patriotic theme. They do require an essay, but it’s only 350 words. This year’s theme is “What Memorial Day Means to Me.” In addition to the $5,000 grand prize, there are awards for first, second, and third place ($2,500, $1,500, and $1,000, respectively). Beliz Law Firm Video Essay Scholarship Contest

How to win: Everyone knows creating a video “essay” is more fun (and easier) than a written one. How to win: This monthly award goes out to high school juniors, seniors, and college students with a minimum 2.5 GPA. How to win: You’re already snapping and Instagramming beautiful shots. Put your skills to work by creating a winning greeting card image! How to win: Okay, this isn’t a particular scholarship. That’s because DoSomething.org offers a lot of easy scholarships. And they move pretty quickly, with many lasting only a month. But, man, they are fun, creative, and fast. You typically sign up, complete a simple task, and upload a picture proving you did it. Then the winners are chosen at random. No essay, GPA, etc. The best part? These scholarships help you do some good in the world! (At the moment of this writing, it’s for flagging Craigslist posts for ivory, which helps elephants.) High School STEM Scholarship for Aspiring Commercial Drone Pilots

We just launched a scholarship for high school students. The scholarship is called the High School STEM Scholarship for Aspiring Commercial Drone Pilots, and its goal is to support high school students ages 16 and up who are serious about learning how to fly drones commercially. Scholarship recipients will get free access to Drone Pilot Ground School (usual cost is $299), an in-depth test prep course for the FAA’s certification exam to become a commercial drone pilot, and will also have their FAA exam fee of $150 covered, for a total value of about $450.
